PanAfrican Acupuncture Project sets summer training The PanAfrican Acupuncture Project recently concluded the first training of 2 new groups of Ugandan health care providers. The trainings were located in
Kyotera, in the southeastern area of the country, and Kamwenge, about 4 hours west of Kampala. At each training site, hundreds of local Ugandans lined up to receive
acupuncture treatments. Their interest in being treated reflected the many ailments from which they suffered. On the last day of the training in Kamwenge, both
Trainers and Trainees worked together to provide over 250 treatments.
The second of 3 trainings for these groups is scheduled for July 26 through August 6.
As always, acupuncture volunteers are essential to the success of each training. Interested candidates can click here to learn more about the PanAfrican Acupuncture
Project.

Acupuncture Certificate Program. Join Martin Feldman on April 9-11 for Introduction to Meridian Therapy, a 3-day workshop that is open to acupuncturists and 3rd-year acupuncture students. Meridian Therapy is Japan's premiere model of traditional acupuncture. This 5 phases treatment system relies on refined pulse and palpatory
diagnosis skills, combined with subtle needling technique. This workshop covers (Shudo-style) Meridian Therapy theory, palpation, needling and moxibustion techniques,
5 phases treatment strategy, and simple and effective clinical applications. One of the 3 days is dedicated to hands-on practice for a thorough understanding of the
system.
On April 30-May 2, Daniel Zizza will be presenting Module 4, which is entitled Manaka Level II and Applications of Meridian & Manaka Therapy
plus Shonishin: Japanese Non-Insertive Pediatric Acupuncture. Registration for the full workshop is limited to students who have completed previous modules in the
Japanese Acupuncture Program, but the 4-hour Shonishin component is open to all acupuncturists and advanced-level students. Shonishin, Japanese non-insertive pediatric
treatment, is a safe and gentle acupuncture for children, using non-insertive needles specifically developed for treatment of children whose
energy systems are not fully formed. Shonishin involves the use of light touch diagnosis and non-insertive techniques such as rhythmic rubbing, tapping and scratching,
as well as contact needle acupuncture. Shonishin pediatric acupuncture is
effective in treating various diseases such as colic and other digestive problems, asthma, skin diseases, earaches, irritability, night terrors as well as maintenance
of health and the improvement of growth and development in children.

an interest in using all aspects of yoga in a therapeutic context. Students gain comprehensive knowledge and practical skill in the 8 limbs of yoga. They know how to
