With the launch of our Diploma of Phytotherapy program and new intakes in our other full-time programs, PRC has been replete with activity in the new year. Surrounded by new students, new instructors and endless visitors, there has barely been a dull moment. Amidst the excitement a television station even decided to stop by recently to broadcast many of the programs and services that we offer.
The only drawback to all of the activity is that we have had little time to finish some important projects, one of which is the new website. The layout is still being improved, content updated and the functionality tweaked. Stay posted.
Enjoy the newsletter.
Sincerely,
Todd N Howard, President

Books of the Month
This month the PRC Bookstore is featuring both the Manual of Dermatology in Chinese Medicine and the TCM Diagnosis Study Guide.
The Manual of Dermatology in Chinese Medicine by Shen De-Hui provides information needed to properly treat skin diseases. Introductory chapters discuss the history of dermatology in TCM, as well as aspects of diagnostics, differentiation and treatment that are peculiar to this field. The remaining 17 chapters provide detailed discussion of the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of specific skin conditions, including those most commonly seen in the clinic. Skin diseases are organized by biomedical categories, which will enable practitioners to easily reference available colour atlases of dermatology to aid in diagnosis. This book is available for $50.95.
The TCM Diagnosis Study Guide by Qiao Yi is organized around the 'four pillars' of TCM diagnosis: inspection, inquiry, listening and smelling, and palpation. In this text, each aspect is explained in a clear and systematic manner, with generous use of tables and illustrations. This is followed by a series of review questions for deeper understanding and a comprehensive self-examination consisting of 200 multiple-choice questions. This book is available for $47.95.

Continuing Education at Alembic Alembic Healing Arts Centre is pleased to offer several exciting courses in the near future.
Alembic will host Radical Forgiveness Ceremony as taught by Kimmie Leslie on January 25 from 12-3pm. Based on a Native American healing circle ceremony, this largely non-verbal process preserves privacy and anonymity, yet has proved itself to be extremely powerful and effective in allowing people to forgive themselves and others, bringing peace and happiness within. This
sacred ceremony leaves participants feeling lighter and clearer around
forgiveness-related issues. It safely and gently assists participants
in releasing pain and unhealthy patterns that create difficulty and disappointment in their lives. For more information and to register, please visit www.fullcircleheal.com or contact Jennifer Aipedale at dtcm2006@hotmail.com.
On February 14-15, Certified Radical Forgiveness Coach Kimmie Leslie will also offer a 2-day Radical Forgiveness Workshop. This program assists individuals in freeing themselves from limiting energy patterns that create difficulty and imbalance in their life. These hindering energetic patterns can be experienced as unharmonious relationships, physical, emotional, or mental difficulties, victimization, feeling inwardly or outwardly blocked, depression, negative stress, low energy, anxiety, fear, or ongoing difficulties in any area of life. For more information and to register, please visit www.fullcircleheal.com or contact Jennifer Aipedale at dtcm2006@hotmail.com.
