Students of Pacific Rim College may pursue a number of options in helping to finance their education.
Student Loans
As a PCTIA Accredited institution, Canadian students are eligible to apply for Canada Government Student Aid for all programs except the Japanese Acupuncture Certificate Program. Students must submit a paper application for student loans. The online
application process is not available to PRC students at this time.

Scholarships and Bursaries
Doris Sweetnam Scholarship The Doris Sweetnam Scholarship is offered to 3rd and 4th year full-time TCM students in Canada. Named after Doris Sweetnam, a pioneer in the field of acupuncture and auricular medicine in Canada, the total value of the 2010 scholarship is $2,325.00 and includes entrance to the 2010 Canadian Oriental Medical Symposium on March 26-28 in Vancouver. Pacific Rim College Bursary* The Pacific Rim College Bursary is offered to new students entering into the following programs at PRC: Diploma of Acupuncture, Diploma of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Diploma of Phytotherapy and the Natural Health Program. This monetary award is based on both financial need and academic achievement, and recipients will receive $500 for the first semester of study and $250 for the subsequent semester at PRC. Eligible students must complete an Application for Financial Aid and enroll in a minimum of 18 credits per semester during the first 2 semesters. The Pacific Rim College bursary will be awarded to 2 new students each semester. Applications must be received by PRC's Office of Admissions no later than 60 calendar days before the first scheduled day of class of the semester. The recipients will be announced 4 weeks prior to the start of the semester.
Anton Jayasuriya Memorial Scholarship* Pacific Rim College offers the Anton Jayasuriya Memorial Scholarship in honour of the late Sir Anton Jayasuriya, world renowned acupuncturist, author and teacher who treated over two million patients free of charge during his lifetime in his native country of Sri Lanka. The scholarship is offered to returning students in the following programs at PRC: Diploma of Acupuncture, Diploma of
Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Diploma of Phytotherapy and the
Natural Health Program. It is awarded based on both humanitarian activities and financial need. One scholarship worth $500 will be awarded each semester. Eligible students must complete an Application for Financial Aid and
enroll in a minimum of 18 credits during the semester for which the scholarship is awarded. Applications must be received by PRC's Office of Admissions no later
than 60 calendar days before the first scheduled day of class of the
semester. The recipient will be announced 4 weeks prior to the start
of the semester.
Darshan Lalli Scholarship* The Darshan Lalli Scholarship is offered to returning students in the following programs at PRC: Diploma of Acupuncture, Diploma of
Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Diploma of Phytotherapy and the
Natural Health Program. The Darshan Lalli Society supports health and education initiatives in the developing world, primarily in India and Africa. Two scholarships of $500 will be awarded to 2 students each semester who demonstrate academic achievement and community service. Eligible students must complete an Application for Financial Aid and
enroll in a minimum of 18 credits during the semester for which the
scholarship is awarded. Applications must be received by PRC's Office
of Admissions no later
than 60 calendar days before the first scheduled day of class of the
semester. The recipients will be announced 4 weeks prior to the start
of the semester.
*Students who receive this scholarship are required to complete 10 hours of PRC community service during the semester for which the scholarship is awarded. Opportunities to satisfy requirements will be made available to students on a regular basis and may include helping out at college events or doing college-sponsored work within the Victoria community.
